Leaving Water Appliances Running When Out Runs Risk Of Water Damage
It seems that many commercials we see on TV have an advertisement for a brand new water appliance that takes care of everything. Dishwashers and dishwasher soap. Or better yet, those dishwasher capsules. You see the person take the pots, pans, and plates from the sink and put them directly into the dishwasher. Once the capsule or soap is put in, it’s lightly closed, the person smiles, claps their hands for a job well done, and simply walks away.

Leaking Water Appliances
You do the same thing with a washing machine. Load up the washer with the colors and whites, because hey, the brand new machine can do it all. It’s so high-tech, it can take care of any situation. We walk away and assume the job will be done without our watching it do it.Some people do so out of necessity. They have to leave for work, or run an errand, or it’s late and they need to get some sleep.
Well, what can happen if you take the risk of leaving a machine with running water on while you leave the house for an afternoon or an evening out or just go to bed could end up as your horror story. We are all guilty of doing it! Horror stories do come true. You come back to the house after a night out and find you are walking in puddles. You wake up, put your slippers on, and immediately soak them as you walk into your kitchen.

This must happen to a lot of us as it is also a common homeowners’ insurance claim. Even your ice-maker hose can break and cause major water damage.
