Carpet Cleaning Process

In our first Carpet Cleaning post, “Carpet Cleaning – Finding A Reputable Company“, we reviewed AAS Restoration’s helpful hints and tips to make sure you choose the one that fits your needs. In our last post, “Information Carpet Cleaners Need From You,” we reviewed the information that carpet cleaning companies need you to provide. In this post we will list our ten-step process for cleaning your carpets.

 

We start by pre-spraying the carpets with our detergent so all of the carpet is wet. We then let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. We bring in two different hoses. One is the vacuum hose, and the other is a solution hose. We use a heavy-weighted rotary tool called an RX-20. We clean all levels of carpet. We clean the stairs last using a stair tool. Stairs take a lot of abuse so we like the detergent to sit longer in those areas. We run a neutral rinse throughout as we are cleaning so there are no residue to attract dirt left behind. For an additional charge, when we are finished with the cleaning we go back over all the carpets and apply a carpet protector. The finishing step is to rake the carpets. Lastly, we leave you with a bottle of professional spotter to take care of spills and accidents between annual cleanings. It is a neutral spotter so if it does not remove the spot, it will not set it or harm the carpet in any way.

 

The carpet will take around six to eight hours to dry to the touch. We like to allow it to dry for 24 hours before you move any furniture back or remove any of the blocks from underneath furniture left in the room. If you have a mat for an office chair we like to allow 26 hours of drying before that is put back into place.
